Recovering after chin reductionA full recovery takes between 6 and 8 weeks, although normal activities can resume in as little as 5 to 10 days. Bruising and swelling of the jaw, neck and lower cheeks is to be expected following surgery, as is nausea resulting from the general anaesthetic. |
Chewing and maybe swallowing will be difficult in the first few days following surgery so a light diet with plenty of liquid should be consumed during this period. |
