Cosmetic Surgery in Cyrpus by Dr Stavros Eleftheriou

Chin Augmentation

Chin augmentation procedure offers benefit to persons who have a recessed chin and who may also have a prominent nose.

Recovering after surgery

You will experience some discomfort and swelling in the affected area for several days.

It is also normal to experience some temporary difficulty with smiling and talking. Black and blue marks may be visible around the chin and neck.

Your cosmetic surgeon will instruct you about dental hygiene, eating and any restrictions to your activities after surgery.

Things to keep in mind

As you recover, there are a few things you should remember:

  • If your surgery was done through incisions inside your mouth, your surgeon will recommend you to stick to a soft diet for the first week so your wounds can heal properly.
  • Chewing can cause your suture line to break and lead to infection.
  • Please take the antibiotics and painkillers prescribed by your surgeon.
  • Do not take aspirin as it can promote bleeding.
  • Brush your teeth regularly, even if you have incisions inside your mouth. Rinse with an antiseptic mouthwash four times a day.
  • Be sure to take two weeks away from work to allow your bruises to clear and your chin to settle sufficiently.
